Lower Quinton, Stratford-upon-Avon, t: +44 (0)1789 720342

Apart from the well-known attractions of Shakespeare's Stratford - the town, Anne Hathaway's cottage, the river, the theatre, you’ll find plenty more. The North Cotswolds towns and villages are on your doorstep.

The market towns of Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold offer proper traditional shopping. The villages of Willersey, Broadway, Snowshill, The Slaughters, Stanton and Stanway are all charming.

Within a few miles of the College Arms is the beautiful Cotswold wool town of Chipping Campden, famously described by G. M. Trevelyan as 'The most beautiful village street now left in the island'.

There are tea shops and antique shops to browse around. Even closer are famous gardens: National Trust Hidcote Manor and Kiftsgate are world-famous. South Warwickshire villages are cast from the pale Warwickshire limestone; Halford, Ilmington, Honington, Barcheston: with its famous tapestries.

Close by you'll find the historic Civil War battlefield of Edge Hill. And a bit more energetically, there are lovely walks and hikes. The 'Heart of England Way' actually passes only a hundred yards from the pub.
